Monolith houses in Tashkent

Buildings made of monolithic reinforced concrete began to be built during the period of developed socialism and this was a response to the shortcomings of houses made of prefabricated reinforced concrete.

Unlike panel houses, houses made of monolithic reinforced concrete are usually not mass-produced - these are individual projects.

For the construction of such houses, the DSK House-Building Plant is not needed, although a concrete mixing unit is usually mounted on the construction site. The load-bearing elements of the house are cast directly on the construction site, the walls are usually formed using sliding formwork, which rises as the house grows.

Usually, these are tower-type houses or a combination of block and tower elements. Such a house has a monolithic continuous (performed by continuous casting) stiffening core (lift-stair assembly) around which living quarters are formed.

Overlappings in such a house can be composite, and for houses built in areas of increased seismic activity - monolithic.

The load-bearing walls run both around the perimeter and inside the building, unlike precast concrete houses - the load-bearing wall is continuous from the basement to the roof of the building.

Another difference between houses made of monolithic reinforced concrete is the absence of external seams and joints. This improves the heat-saving properties of the house.

The advantages of houses made of monolithic reinforced concrete include their individuality, good sound insulation, better (compared to panel houses) heat-saving properties, high seismic resistance of the structure.

Of the shortcomings - houses are rather capricious in construction, casting a house on a construction site is not as easy as it seems at first glance. Bearing walls are thick (almost like in brick houses). Apartment layouts are as exotic as in brick houses. In addition, load-bearing walls often run through the middle of the apartment.

In general, a house made of monolithic reinforced concrete inside is very similar to a brick house, only it is made entirely of concrete...

The number of storeys of such houses is usually 18 - 20 floors.

The houses are equipped with smoke-free stairs and two elevators to the entrance.

There is technical equipment.

Plumbing, sewerage, heating - all centralized.

Cookers - rarely gas, more often electric.

The characteristics of the apartments depend on the regulatory documents in force at the time the design of the house was started, as well as on the capabilities and wishes of the customer.

So the height of the ceilings can be both 2.7 and 3 meters.

Apartments are not always well balanced in size, i.e. one room in a three-room apartment may account for more than half of the living area of the apartment.

At present, at least in Tashkent, not a single monolithic reinforced concrete house has been seen under construction.
